Art Next is a unique platform for emerging artists from around the world to showcase their works at a prominent global art hub. This year, a panel of renowned academics, artists, critics, collectors and gallery owners selected artists from over 20 countries and regions, and in combination utilize over 20 artistic mediums. Korean artists Anna Ahn and Kim So-Ri will exhibit their latest artworks in Art Next Expo 2017.
Graduated from Sangmyung University, Anna Ahn is an artist who expresses the whispers of life in various ways through painting. Anna is recently interested in working with the condensed form of life through the theme of the Cocoon as well as expression of emotion by analysing the forms of nerves and textures found in the brain.
Kim So-Ri completed his Fine Arts degree at Seoul Kyunhee University. His sculpture Bearded Peter Pan (2016) has been shown in Seongnam Arts Center and he has had a Gundam Art Exhibition (2013) in Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival. Kim So-ri does not merely reconstruct the objects of his childhood, but shares his old memories and emotions drawn from the past to suggest a deeper significance or relationship tied to the object.
